According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.5 sq mi. 2.4 sq mi of it is land and 0.1 sq mi of it (4.37%) is water.

The climate in the area is moderate in the summer and mild in the winter due to its relatively low elevation and its northwestern location, which places it closer to the Pacific Ocean than many other parts of Idaho.
